Two Week Adventures in China

November 1-15, 2013

Join me for an unusual and exciting excursion through China. We travel to famed historic sights including the Great Wall and massive Terra Cotta army of China's first emperor. We take a leisurely cruise on the beautiful river Li river, meanders through a valley dotted with limestone peaks. This half-day trip is an artist's dream, ending in a charming ancient town. We travel to Hangzhou, famed for the distinctive beauty of West Lake. Suzhou is known for its gardens and canals. The most unique element of our trip is the tiny island of Putuoshan, dotted with temples to Quan Yin, goddess of mercy and compassion. The island delights with it's tiny, quaint fishing village, beautiful beaches, marble arches and temples, temples, temples. The natural beauty also allows glimpses of Guan Yin in rock formations and the surf. Our final stop is Shanghai, China's economic stronghold where we walk the waterfront Bund, visit the famed shopping street, Nanjing Road and the Jade Buddha Temple and more before returning to the US. The trip also includes learning elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine taught by our leader, Karen Kramer. We welcome healthcare and mental health professionals, artists, photographers and those interested in experiencing the world's fastest growing economy, journeying from the modern, through ancient settings and back again. It is truly a "moment in time".
